About the MT Revolution

The MT Revolution didn’t happen overnight. Counting our combined massage experience, it took Krista and me (Mark) forty-plus years to get here. During that time, we learned how take care of ourselves in certain ways. For instance, I figured out how to massage pain-free.  But as valuable as massaging pain-free is, it didn’t help me with depleted energy reserves or a priority list that didn’t include the things that were important to me.

Last year, after Krista interviewed me on her podcast (The Radical RMT), we talked about how we only had pieces of the self-care puzzle and not a comprehensive understanding of what it meant to truly take care of ourselves. Immediately we realized that we weren’t alone. Listeners of The Radical RMT and readers of my blog had the same questions and challenges.

So what was stopping us from bringing together a curated group of experts to frame self-care in a way that is comprehensive, accessible, and practical, so that massage therapists can start to change their lives right now?

Absolutely nothing.

So we did.

But here’s the thing: Two people do not make a revolution.

We need you.

So if it’s getting hard to think about continuing to live a life where you’re always putting other people ahead of you, then we only have one thing left to say:

Welcome to the revolution.

Krista Dicks, RMT

Hi, I’m Krista, Registered Massage Therapist in Ottawa, Canada and the host of The Radical RMT.  It’s my goal to encourage other massage therapists to experience life on their terms thanks to the opportunities we have in our profession.

Thanks to my massage therapy career I’ve had many once-in-a-lifetime opportunities which support my lifestyle of fun and growth. Here’s a sample:

Mark Liskey, LMT, CNMT

Hi, I’m Mark, a licensed massage therapist, certified neuromuscular therapist (CNMT), business owner and CE provider/teacher in Phoenixville, PA, USA. I travel around the US to help massage therapists work pain-free so that they can make more money, massage as long as they desire and love their work again.

Massage is not just a career to me, it’s a lifestyle that affords me the opportunity to live life on my terms, which includes building brick-and-mortar and online businesses, writing about my passions in magazines, authoring a book, co-founding a non-profit, traveling to see new people and experience new things, and trying to make a difference when I can. I’ve been sharing my massage expertise in my blog with massage therapists for more than five years and some day, whether online or in-person, I hope to meet you. Here’s the CliffsNotes version of me:
